This story had a great base idea, but it seemed to be kind of like it was written by a 13 year old. Some parts were good, but then different scenes that were played out seemed to be a little to fake. Reminds me of fan fiction writing be preteens.

Made the Grade: Cracked by Tara Logan

3.5 out of 5 stars, this is a very cute novella about finding the right person for you and be willing to do what it takes to keep them. I liked Al and Dailey; they played off each other well. Al's family and Dailey's friends/players really entertained throughout this novella.
However, even though this was a novella I think the end of it just wrapped up to quickly for my liking. I just wish for a little bit more. Yet I did like the "epilogue." =0)
I recommend this to anyone looking for a fast-paced contemporary romance novella.

Poorly written

Really? This was written by a teacher who has her Masters in English, but it was full of typos, grammatical errors, and just plain wrong words. Several times, the author used the expression, "spoiled sport" when she meant "spoilsport." To elucidate: a "spoilsport" is one who spoils the fun for others. I imagine (but can't say for sure, as it is not a real expression) that a "spoiled sport" is someone who was once a sport, but is now spoiled.
Another example is location 873 where she writes that the man "reeked havoc" when she meant "wrecked" At least I hope she didn't mean that he smelled!
These are just a few of the many problems with the book.
Sometimes I just want an entertaining, quick read, but when the writing keeps me from enjoying the story, I have to give it a "not recommended" throwaway rating.
