This is a great Bible, as it has the New Testament in Hebrew along with the Tanakh. A wealth of cross references are included on each page, and maps at the back are also in Hebrew. Many more resources included in this Bible. And it arrived from Israel a lot quicker than expected. Many blessings to the Bible Society in Israel!

Over the course of fifty years, Stan and Jan Berenstain wrote and illustrated hundreds of books about the Berenstain Bears in dozens of formats, from board books to beginning readers. Some of the most enduring are the stories in the groundbreaking Bright and Early Books and Beginner Books series.

About the Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia.  They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art.  They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art.  During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory.  When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines.  After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy.  Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt .  It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the "Berenstain Bears".  

Since their inception, the Berenstain Bears stories have expanded to include picture books, beginning readers, and chapter books--even a hit TV show on PBS. Writing and illustrating the books has become a Berenstain family affair. Mike joined with his parents as a creative team in the late 1980s. The Bear family has expanded over the years as well. Sister Bear arrived in 1974, and baby Honey joined the family in 2000.

Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Berenstain Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania.

Glad there are board books to start the series early

Glad that there are Berenstain Bear board books so I can start my son on the series early. It is an abridged version, so don't expect tons of pages. Great quality and size.

One of the best books I have ever seen.It is not only very well written but it has a treasure of wisdom for all surgeons.In fact ,it is the work of a master, with the great quality that it explains every thing in a most understandable language, and what to say of the treasure of applied anatomy it contains.I do not have words to express and thanks Dr Skandalakis for delivering us in different places of the world his tremendous experience At the same time an excellent edition ( hardcover,beautiful drawings,very good quality of paper).It is the kind of books I feel fortunate to have got

Beautiful book! I absolutely love everything about this book. I'm a Weight Watchers member, RN and mom to a toddler, so this book is an answer to my prayers. So far I've made the Hamburger Stroganoff and Grilled Cumin-Rubbed Skirt Steak Tacos with Pickled Red Onions....both were delicious and so easy to make! Great recipes and easy to follow!!

Just received the cookbook and couldn't wait to read it. I absolutely love the stories before each easy to read recipe. Gina gives you options to cook all of the recipes in a crock pot, pressure cooker or on top of the stove/oven. I can't wait to start cooking and get healthy. Gina out did herself once again!

I rarely write reviews but this cook book is AWESOME!!! Each recipe is labeled by type (vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, freezer friendly, dairy free, slow cooker, pressure cooker, etc.) and also has the serving size (i. e. 1 cup, 1.5 cups, etc) and complete nutritional information. There are large color photos for most recipes plus extras like weekly meal plans and meal prep and planning tips. The ONLY thing I didn't like was there is no central recipe listing. But there is a complete list of recipes at the front of each section (which also shows the recipe types as noted above) - just a minor difference from the way cook books are usually organized. I can definitely adjust to that. I will be using this a TON this winter for soups and stews!!!

Hurray for Bom Dia Level 1!!!!!

Bom Dia Level 1 is a fantastic Portuguese textbook.The photographs are outstanding- you can almost picture yourself in Portugal! The workbook and listening comprehension activities are varied and provide several different ways of teaching each concept. Although the book is aimed at students in grades 7-12 in the classroom setting, I have found no problem teaching my 3rd grade child at home, using all the products from the publisher, and some supplemental items too. The lessons are not too difficult and she is able to complete them in a timely manner. We especially enjoy the listening activities, where she can hear other Portuguese speakers. The cultural activities in each chapter are wonderful as well because they provide the student with more than just learning another language- it introduces them to how the people live, what foods they eat, etc... I highly recommend Bom Dia Level 1 Textbook for anyone homeschooling their children.

Wow!

There are a lot of books out there for learning Portuguese; unfortunately, the number is skewed heavily in favor of Brazilian Portuguese. Even in the foreword of one of the "Look Inside!" Brazilian Portuguese books I found on Amazon are the words, "After all, who wants to go to Portugal?" My, my.

I often listen to Portugal's Radio Sim on my computer, and have fallen in love with the sound of European Portuguese. I have been able to find a few apps for my iPod that teach the European pronunciation either in short phrases, or word by word. These have helped immeasurably, but they only whetted my appetite.

I have bought a few phrase books and such, but felt as if I was just skimming the surface of the language. And since I plan on visiting Portugal to use my language to have a wonderful time, it helps to have something to visualize. Bom Dia! is THE book I have been looking for!

Some reviewers say that it is too rudimentary--but that's just what I need, to fill the gaps in my homemade do-it-yourself study. Other reviewers say the book is geared to school kids--but that's a big part of the culture in any country, so I don't see it as a downside. I read through Bom Dia! aloud, imitating the European pronunciation I've studied and heard. Knowing that the sentences do not contain Brazilian phrases, I can go ahead and learn it with confidence.

I don't think any book ever had this many pictures of Portugal, which is just great; I can visualize myself in these places, interacting with the people and speaking their language! All the things I've mentioned in this book make a big impression and stick with me long after I have closed it, as I do my best to think in Portuguese throughout the day. The only thing I could want more is for the price of Bom Dia! 2 to drop a bit before I go to buy it (not for a while, yet)!

And one more important thing about this book: IT'S FUN!
