Ms. J.B. Snow presents a near exhaustible list of contributing factors in the development and perpetuation of Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder seldom found altogether in one place. This enumeration, alone, makes this kindle book well worth its price. She briefly surveys virtually every dysfunctional relationship that a child, adolescent, or young adult may have encountered, which can ‘water the seeds’ of OCPD, and facilitate its emergence in his or her life. Ms. Snow touches upon such factors, surprising to some, as maternal depression (its impact upon fostering OCPD traits), outdated views of men toward women (hindering both sexes), and strict religious upbringing (scrupulosity). Lastly, OCPD is shown to be an illness proceeding from numerous ‘tributaries’, yet still a disorder whose ‘forceful and unthinking river flow’ can be diverted, lessened, or halted through the acquiring and application of True Knowledge, before which OCPD traits can begin to vanish away.
