great book !!!!

This is a real gem to those who want to learn and understand Buddhism
I have been practicing chan meditation under dharma master Yong hua for a few years now and it has helped me being a better person and transformed the most difficult parts in my life. He teaches his students but asks nothing in return. I think its important that the writer writes with wisdom, not knowledge from other people's words. When a writer has wisdom to write this type of book, it provides more authentic and clear answers to the readers. And it won't spread delusion.

Into A Raging Sea, has been selected as the first book in the US Coast Guard's 2016 Commandant's Reading List, written by Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft.

Into a Raging Sea is a personal memoir by a Coast Guardsmen who truly knew his purpose and then some. This Coast Guardsman is Bernard Webber, coxswain of motor lifeboat CG-36500, from Station Chatham, Massachusetts. His and his station's story will be featured on the big screen when The Finest Hours premieres later this month. Until then, you can hear directly from Webber himself in raw, candid text about his role in the Pendleton rescue and what life was like at Station Chatham in the 1950s."

About the Author
Bernie Webber, the late US Coast Guardsman, is credited for piloting the boat that is responsible for the "greatest small boat rescue" in the history of his service. He is the hero of the book and movie, "The Finest Hours," and is played in the movie by actor Christopher Pine.
Michael Tougias is a lecturer and best-selling author of 20 books. As a public speaker, Tougias regularly gives one hundred presentations or more per year. His books include "The Finest Hours," currently being made into a movie by Disney. He lives in Plymouth, MA.

I bought and read the original version of this book (Chatham: The Lifeboatmen ...) several years ago. Into the Raging Sea is a republication of Chatham: The Lifeboatmen, with a new introduction by Michael Tougias (author of The Finest Hours). Since no one yet has reviewed this book, I am submitting my original review below:

I bought this book because I have spent many summers in Chatham and I am interested in the town's history. I found this book to be an especially good read, not because it is a particularly well-written book (it's not), but because the book is written from a very personal point of view. It is the author's personal insights, expressed in his own words, that that make this book worth reading. Not only does Bernard Webber discuss his role in the rescue of the crew of the S.S. Pendleton with great candor, he also gives the reader a peak into the day-to-day experiences of Coast Guard service during the mid 1940s through the '60s (and incidentally, what life was like in Chatham during the '50s).

I think anyone interested in Coast Guard history and/or Chatham history will enjoy this book. Anyone particularly interested in the Pendleton rescue (or in marine rescues in general) will find Webber's narrative especially illuminating.

About the Author
Stefan Waner and Steven R. Costenoble both received their Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, having studied several years apart with the same advisor, J. Peter May. Their paths merged when Steven joined Stefan at Hofstra University in 1987; since then they have coauthored 15 research papers in algebraic topology. By the early 1990s they had become dissatisfied with many of the Finite Mathematics and Applied Calculus textbooks. They wanted textbooks that were more readable and relevant to students' interests, containing examples and exercises that were interesting, and reflected the interactive approaches and techniques they found worked well with their own students. It therefore seemed natural to extend their research collaboration to a joint textbook writing project that expressed these ideals. To this day they continue to work together on their textbook projects, their research in algebraic topology, and their teaching.

A Great Book on MRP and Getting the Most from It

What an inspiration and quite honestly, a game changer in our approach to our MRP system. We’ve had a lot of trouble in this area and not getting things under control has hurt our bottom line and damaged employee morale and confidence. There is very little theory in this book and everything that is covered is simple to understand. Though I would suggest that you have a clear understanding of MRP, or like us, at least use MRP software and apply what you know. The author is fantastic with sharing actual case studies and projects, not a bunch of hypothetical situations that software makers offer up. The author has also presented some rather great screen shots and some fantastic graphics that help elevate the level of understanding. It helps make this a remarkably cohesive training and educational book that in the end, sets out to be primarily about getting your MRP software to work more effectively. It helps do all this with clear results and a better overall understanding of supply planning and implementation.

After working in a big company's Supply Chain department for more than 10 years, I thought I knew everything there is to know about MRP, but Shaun's Snapp book proved me wrong. A thorough deep dive into the need of MRP and a root cause analysis of its bad state in many companies, I would state that this is definitely a must read for any supply chain professional. I would even go the extent of calling it an MRP manual, this book captures all the need to know and more about MRP. Professional book for professionals.
